Jailbreak only - the 3G unlock is being worked on.
July 20th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Can be used on iTunes 7.7 i presume?
You HAVE to use iTunes 7.7
July 21st, 2008 at 8:37 am
Thanks guys. I am on a UK unlocked iPhone running 1.1.4. When I tried the restore I got a 1601 error message. Maybe during the day you might get a chance to look at it. Thanks. John
Hi John- just released a slightly tweaked custom restore, and also make sure that you’ve created the folder as documented on the website.
July 21st, 2008 at 10:39 am
A new restore image and slightly amended instructions are on the website. Hopefully this should now prevent the 1600, 1601 and 1602 errors that some people were getting.
July 21st, 2008 at 10:42 am
Jody,
many thanks. I too was getting the 1600 error message and this has worked fine for me. Cheers mate! Apps store is superb!!!
July 21st, 2008 at 6:19 pm
so let me get this right. I have PC, iTunes 7.5 and 1.1.4. I update to 7.7, update to the official 2.0 firmware, then restore to custom firmware, otherwise I update to 7.7, put into DFU and then restore to custom firmware (ignoring official 2.0 step)….. Is that it?
July 21st, 2008 at 6:42 pm
HI GUYS, I HAVE JUST UPGRADED TO VERSION 2.0 SUCCESSFULLY - WHEN I THOUGHT THAT I MADE A COMPLETE MESS. THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR GREAT WORK. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

July 22nd, 2008 at 10:56 am
Job done! You had me worried for a while but all’s well that ends well.
Whilst you were sorting out the PC software I must admit to looking at other unlocking sites and methods. I have to say most of them made me go crosseyed with confusion. Your solution is yet again the quickest and simplest out there. Well done!
July 22nd, 2008 at 11:05 am
I’ve got a 8gb I phone (not 3g) and have downloaded itunes 7.7 and software version 2.0 as the add on, stupidly, now phone unusable. Will this fix everything, jailbreak my sim and make all good again. (South Africa)
YES IT WILL!
July 22nd, 2008 at 11:20 am
The new package and instructions from this morning allowed me upgrading to 2.0 in my 2G, using Vista.
Thank you!
July 22nd, 2008 at 11:26 am
Thanks.
The upgrade worked perfectly 1st time.
July 22nd, 2008 at 11:54 am
I struggled last night and thought i had turned my phone into a doorstop. i followed the instructions to the letter this morning and hey presto! it works. Thanks.
July 22nd, 2008 at 12:03 pm
my iphone is resyncing with itunes and all seems good in the world again
July 22nd, 2008 at 12:12 pm
The update went very smoothly with no problems. Thanks for all your hard work. One point though - how to install unofficial applications that used to be done through installer on 1.14? Any input on this.
July 22nd, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Thanks - Just done the PC upgrade using the DFU mode and all worked fine - Also synced my Iphone back to how it was - Yet again you have done iphoneunlockuk.com very proud
July 22nd, 2008 at 2:03 pm
hi there, first time on the site, if i upgrade to version 2.0 will i lose all contacts etc on the phone?
No - iTunes backs everything up for you automatically.
July 22nd, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Neal is a happy bunny !!!
Thank you guys
PC solution works great.
Sorry if my patience was a little short !!
How do I get your apps program?
July 22nd, 2008 at 3:45 pm
sorry to keep bothering you, but if i buy your one click download will it update to 2.0 and unlock at the same time and keep all contacts etc safe?
Yes it will
July 22nd, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Thanks for the new pc solution. Smooth sailing the first time using it.(initially lots of 16XX errors ). You guys deserve all the applauses. It may help if you include how to get the wifi running, because at first its really a headache.
Brooke - do you mean WiFi or EDGE? We have instructions for EDGE on the website, and Wifi ‘just works’
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:08 pm
guys you are AMAZING after i locked it to 2.0 yestr day i thought i had the best paperweight in the office, not now lol, back to being the best phone in the office. cheers
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Great work guys! Just a quick and probably stupid question….is installer no longer available on this version? Thanks
No - you’ve got the AppStore now!
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:30 pm
Hello there, I am a Belgian living and working in Colombia and have been trying to do the payment but the website does not allow me - how can this be solved ?
Thanks in advance and best regards, Johan
Try the alternative payment method, using our backup provider, Dalpay
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:33 pm
Thank you very much for the solution and the help needed. Congratulations!
July 22nd, 2008 at 4:41 pm
Great job Jody, I hung back and waited until the PC instructions were clear and updated no problem, easier than the 1.1.4 release in fact. Just a note for everyone else, I have found downloading from the app store in itunes doesnt work - you cannot apply the apps to the phone, but if you download them from the app store on the phone… works a treat (not a major is it)
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:04 pm
same as andrew problems applying apps from itunes to iphone but when downloaded straight onto iphone theres no problems at all, not a big deal.
just wanna say thanks for putting the instructions out for pc today, worked first time. soo happy to have my iphone back after it being a brick for a day!
thanks again, still recommending your services.
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Hi Guy’s,
I just wanted to thank the team for your hard work you have done to get it’s customers upgraded and unlocked to Ver:2 software. I think you are the best there is in the buisiness and I would not hesitate in passing on your company name to others.
Well done and thank you for sorting out my problem my i-phone is upgraded and unlocked thanks to you.
Terry
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:17 pm
works fine for me! edge, maps the lot. cheers
July 22nd, 2008 at 6:11 pm
How much time do I have to do the installation after having done the payment
Thanks, Johan
As long as you like!
July 22nd, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Everything ok except mail. Completely unusable, wont download, delete account or add new one??????
Jim - you need to setup as new iphone rather than restore from backup in this instance. Try going to settings >> general >> reset all contet and settings
Then just re-sync everything but email.
This is a known version 2.0 issue - nothing to do with unlocking.
Jody
July 22nd, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Do you mean Reset all settings or Erase all content and settings? Wouldn’t want to get it wrong!
Erase all content and settings
July 22nd, 2008 at 7:00 pm
Jody,
I am up and running with my new 2.0 unlocked for T Mobile in the US. You must have worked your tail off to come up with the fix as fast as you did and I for one commend you on your effort and obvious skills.
Thanks for being in business and providing this service.
Best regards,
Pat Herbert
July 22nd, 2008 at 7:57 pm
Jody,
Many thanks for version 2.0 of your unlock software.
I previously had an original Iphone unlocked to 1.1.3
on Vodafone using iPhone Unlock UK.
I successfully ran your 2.0 software on a Macintosh
-now unlocked to 2.0 on Vodafone UK.
The only tribulation was deciding to select Restore or
Update after updating to version 7.7 iTunes at the start.
Question : What does the dot inside the box adjacent to the carrier name convey ?
Regards,
Alec Hardie
July 22nd, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Finally up and running - took longer than it should ‘cos I can’t follow instructions. doh! Thanks to Jody and team for all the hard work:-)
Interested re the comment above re no need for Installer now there is the AppStore. So what is Cydia all about - looks like an alternative? And, what really interests me is, do I need all of the various apps it has (apparently) loaded.
Cydia is the alternative - it hasn’t INSTALLED those apps, those are the ones that it gives you the OPTION to install.
July 22nd, 2008 at 9:33 pm
Thank you very much for your terrific work. I have unlocked and updated my old iphone to the new 2.0, with your latest instructions and sofware. You are great. And thank you for your support. I paid for the updated software and waited a few days, but you’ve made it!.
BUEN TRABAJO! (good work!)

July 23rd, 2008 at 1:03 am
yeah, good work guys. after getting ripped off by another site promising to unlock 2.0 i had to downgrade back to 1.1.4 which took ages and then waited for you guys to sort this. cheers.
July 23rd, 2008 at 3:15 am
With the new instructions (PC) upgrade went through OK without the error 1602 that was plaguing me before, however now iTunes keeps asking me “An upgrade to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available. Would you like to download it now?” Should I hit the “Download and Update” Button?
Hi Mark- just ignore that. You’re not on an authorised carrier anyway so iTunes will come up with an error anyway.
July 23rd, 2008 at 10:20 am
jody, just a quick message of thanks to you and your team, new instructions worked a treat. Thanks andy
July 23rd, 2008 at 10:46 am
I am relly interested in buying your software - i am just concerened that i bought my iphone in Hong Kong with it unlocked already in v1.1.4 - will you software still work?
Yes of course it will still work. It works on any iPhone.
July 23rd, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Stoked.. worked perfectly, thanks. A question, can this solution work for a brand new 3g phone? My girlfriend just got one in the US and wants to unlock it.
Not yet - and nor can anyone unlock a 3G iPhone. We are currently evaluating a ’sim chip’ which piggybacks behind your current sim which will enable you to use any sim card in the iPhone but its not a perfect solution as the chip is quite fragile.
July 23rd, 2008 at 1:43 pm
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
First time i have tried it, it took a lil time cause of that but it worked straight away and now i have 2.0!
cant say thank you enough!!
July 23rd, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Hi Jody
What can I say! Ive use all you software from 1.1.2 up to 2.0 all have worked perfect. Your a genius! Thanks
P.S Is there any apps to resend text messages on 2.0? like wetool I used on 1.1.4.
Regards Marc
July 23rd, 2008 at 5:58 pm
I upgraded successfully yesterday - great job guys - but today I notice battery life drains really quick - anyone else noticed a difference?
July 24th, 2008 at 2:08 am
Hi there, I am thinking about doing the easier upgrade to V2,0 with a PC - would I be able to recuperate my adressbook and other personal settings when I ‘d sync afterwards via ITunes on my own Mac ?
July 24th, 2008 at 7:37 am
Thanks, well done, unlocked and no issues. regards
Matthew
July 24th, 2008 at 9:52 am
Andrew, i had the same problem i turned off push and fetch and set retrieving to manual solved it back to the normal battery life. Obviously if you use those tools than thats not going to help but it seems they take alot of battery life away.
Hope that helps.
July 24th, 2008 at 10:42 am
I was having major problems upgrading, itunes not recognising phone. I was trying to upgrade with the USB cable attached to a hub and not direct to USB port on my mac.
Once directly attached, worked 1st time.
Cheers
July 24th, 2008 at 10:46 am
Thanks again to Jody and the team for solving the problem with my phone. I upgraded to version 2 a few days ago and everything is working perfectly. After being ripped off on two sites earlier I would not hesitate to recommend you guys to all my friends.
Just one small issue, when I connect my phone to itunes I get a message saying ‘itunes cannot read the contents of graham’s iphone. Go to the summary tab in iphone preferences and click restore to restore this phone to factory settings’ Obvious question will it relock my phone? Without this I can’t sync my contacts, music and video! Can anyone help?
July 24th, 2008 at 10:56 am

July 24th, 2008 at 11:19 am
Jody,
just a quick note to say thank you… for your patience and for actually being helpful with my iPhone situation… It can be so frustrating being the consumer in situations like this where you can’t help but feel that you (the customer) are not being heard or understood. Anyway… thank you very much. My iPhone is now unlocked and in full swing…

Dear Jody,
My iPhone works like a charm thanks to your efforts and software.
Thanks for providing such an amazing support and for all your patience during the first couple of days when things were not working all that good.
For everyone who is reading this, pull out your credit card and become a member. This is the easiest to use software to keep your iphone unlocked and running. Specially if you are like me. I have no clue how to do things with computers.
Thanks again a million.
Alex.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I am a completely satisfied customer since day #1 (12 Oct.2007).
I was able to unlock my US iPhone and to alwyas upgrade it with no problem (you just need to be careful and read the instructions before you begin) and now, since yesterday, I have a 2.0 version!
Great job!!
Thanks.
July 25th, 2008 at 9:14 am
I have upgraded my wife’s 8gb and my 16gb with your product. Both phones initially reacted differently, and at first attempt (I’m not computer brilliant) both failed. The technical help I received in plain language enabled both phones to be unlocked at my second attempt. Cannot recommend you too highly. A big thank you.
July 25th, 2008 at 9:48 am
I thought your instructions and software had bricked my 2.5G but it turned out the mistake was all mine. Your support, in the face of my initial tirade, has been excellent, and the phone is now unlocked and working with 2.0 software. Many thanks for your patience and help.
July 25th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Dear Jody,
Just a brief note to say that you run an excellent company. Your website is easy to use and comprehend. The software you provide always works and the instructions are very clear. Also, I like that you keep in touch with your customers without appearing to always be selling something…very subtle.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing your company grow from strength to strength.
Regards,
Kevin Maughan

I bought the unlock software for my 2g iphone its now upgraded to the latest software but cant seem to get mobile me to push contacts and calendar through!
Anyone know why or having the same problem?
Is this a fault in the unlocking upgrade??
Someone mail me and let me know! Thanks
John - we had this issue on our normal iPhone running a normal contract! Actually it just doesn’t do it automatically! Here are the steps you need to go through:
Hope that helps.
July 28th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Many thanks. As a 66year old wrinkley I had sleepless nights trying to upgrade to v2. Jody you and your team are great
I used your final download and everything worked first time so easy even for me. I would reccomend your services to anyone. many many thanks to you all.
July 30th, 2008 at 1:36 am
Brilliant! I initially unlocked my iphone here with 1.1.4, so I got the M8’s rates 4 version 2 upgrade! I upgraded to version 2 in Itunes & once again u guys have done the Biz allowing me to unlock yet again. Had to go thru the instructions pretty carefully but its worth it. I have a liberated feeling cause I can use my iphone wherever and however I want. This saves me a lot of $ cause I travel o/seas quite a bit. Brilliant job-thanx again!!!!
July 30th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Anyone find upgrading to 2.0 has caused their iphone to freeze and run slow when typing an sms for instance?
July 30th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
Its a known issue with version 2.0 that Apple are aware of - 2.01 or 2.1 will fix it. Just bear with it for a few weeks.
July 30th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Hi Jody - Have you noticed the screen shots that you can do on Iphove v2.0?
1. With the screen UNLOCKED, press and hold the home key
2. Press the sleep button
You will see the screen flash white
Now go to your pictures - You will see the screen shot

Nothing bad will happen!
August 3rd, 2008 at 3:40 am
Thank you guys, it is really amazing how simple and easy the V2 upgrade is !!!
August 4th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I managed to unlock my updated V2 phone… on the 1st try! Great!
August 4th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
Can’t thank you guys enough. I bought this to unlock my daughter’s iphone. She feared the worst when she activated her phone and saw it had the version 2 software.
I have to admit I coonsidered one of your rivals, because it was cheaper, until I saw your comments on scam websites.
I’ m really glad I made the right choice in buying yours.
Used a laptop running XP, and at first had some problems with error 1601 or 1602. I was beginning to think I had been conned. Then I realised I had not quite read one of your instructions properly. It worked perfectly once I corrected my error.
Cannot recommend your product enough. My son is now considering buying your software. His is already unlocked but he wants to upgrade to version 2, and also have peace of mind in case he accidently locks it.
Many, many thanks to you all.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:26 am

Ive been using the phone as a ipod for the past 2 months and i want to use as a phone now. thankyou.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:29 am
One more thing guys is it possable to unlock an iphone without jailbreaking it???
August 6th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
Fantastic. Followed the instructions to the letter and all worked fine. Just a slight problem getting the phone into the right mode for the software, but I persisted as you suggested!
August 9th, 2008 at 9:01 am
Hi everyone, i bought an unlocked 2.0 iphone and it has a library on it. When i try to add songs on itunes, it tells me that i have to erase and sync. Is this Safe? Will my iphone get relocked?
Thanks everyone
August 10th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
I have upgraded itunes to 7.1, updated the iphone to V2, then downloaded your software, but when I select your firmware I get a message that says Wrong Firmware Bundle Selected. My phone is now locked again, as iTunes says the sim card is not valid. HELP!!! Going on holiday on Tuesday, and I have no phone.
August 19th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
Just want to say thanks to the support guy/s who helped me today, I unlocked a new 2g and updated it with little problem at all. Took a while but I could not have done it without the fantastic support I received.
Thanks again guys.
August 26th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Hi
Currently running 2.01. If I purchase will I then be running version 2.02. Also is that right you no longer get installer to be able to download other 3rd party software.
By the way, what I have seen your software looks good.
September 1st, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Just a brief thankyou for such an easy to use software. After locking my phone back to O2 updating to 2.01, unlocking again using your software and now updating to 2.02 couldn’t have been easier! Not to mention being ripped off by one of those sites you note as fake. If only I’d found you first! Highly recommended!!!
September 4th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Jody and the rest of the crew are the best. I just recently bought the remote unlock service and was waiting for them to contact me. While waiting, I sent an email asking for immediate help and they replied asking me to restore the phone to 2.0 (was trying to downgrade to 1.1.4) so I did and to my surprise, everything went from there. I downloaded the unlock program and it worked like magic. Truly the best unlocking solution ever built!
September 7th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
pls someone tell me if the old version is still for sale?
September 8th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
Just to say thanks for all your help when required with upgrading. i have gone from 1.1.4 to 2.0.2 and found the instructions really easy and when i did get stuck jody was there to help. The website always keeps me up to date and looks great. so a big thank you to you all @ iphone unlock keep up the good work and would recommend you to anyone as it’s the best purchase i made….
September 14th, 2008 at 2:57 am
Hi, From the top!
I have a old 4GB which was dng me proud. I upgraded in March to 1.1.4 and all was well, well till now.
I have had to do another unlock due to no major reason, and i cnt seem to get it running right this time.
If i click to select the 1.1.4 in itunes, it starts then drives the error 20 message. But, if i dont select 1.1.4 (by using the shift key when clicking to recover) it goes back to “No sim card, insert then activate!” If i try to put in my orange card it wont play ball at ll. Am i missing something major that i did the first time but have slipped through without doing it this time. Would appreciate any help.
Cheers guys.
Daren
Hi Daren - have you upgraded to our new 2.0 software? Think its about time you did.
September 28th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Hi I have a Uk 16Gb 2G phone which was previously unlocked with Ziphone to 1.1.4 using Itunes 7.6.2.9. I am seriously considering your software as it sounds like a one click solution to updating to 2.0 and unlocking to all networks. I just have a couple of concerns that you can help me with please: -
(1) How would I resync my old contacts from a revious backed up iphone if I am setting my phone up as a new one with your software. Is is possible to resync my old contact saves?
Basically your contacts should be synced with your computer, in either Outlook (Windows) or Address book (Mac)
(2) Does your upgrade take me up to 2.1
Yes
(3) Would my version of Itunes do the job
No - you’ll need to upgrade to the latest version
(4) If anything goes wrong will you give me support?
Yes - Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm
(5) Do i get installer back as this ha d a very useful app called Boss Tools that allowed me to create more space for apps
Yep
Kind Regards
September 30th, 2008 at 9:07 am
Jodie,
You’re software for unlocking was a genius! My iPhone is a 2G…Thanks.
Though I had hickups as usual like the first time in version 2.0… but in the version 2.1 it was due to my iPhone got stock to Recovery Mode.
Well, only through errors that I learned as well like once updated to 2.1 you can’t use the unlocking version for version 2.0.
I just kept my fingers cross all the way…
And, found using MAC was a lot easier to use…
By the way, I found the MMS and videorecorder… I didn’t realise that it ws you guys who developed it. When is the video MMS be available in it though… and I wish the video recorder was much cheaper to purchase.
Over all.. KEEP IT UP!
THANKS A LOT.
Actually Anita - we did NOT write MMS nor Video Recorder, you can thank members of the public for writing these excellent pieces of software, we just make it a bit easier to install them. By the way, if you install something called ‘Cycorder’ rather than ‘Video Recorder’, its far far better and also FREE. Its the one we recommend certainly, a lot more polished.
Furthermore, our PC software is just as easy as Mac software actually.
October 11th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Hi
I bought the software for my 3G, got the piggyback 2 days later, was up and running within an hour - I am sure it could have been less but the glass of Rioja slowed down my responses when holding Home button and Sleep button and then releasing, if only I released the correct button first I would not have had to try 3 times! Damned nice Rioja
Messing around with the SIM and cutting the piece away was no trouble.
All in all highly recommend you guys, your product, service and support.
November 7th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Software worked first time on Iphone 1st gen. Orange SIM connected no problems. Very impressed. Synched Contacts via vista from my Nokia. Also got Mobile Internet working first time.
